Celly for iOS

Celly is a messaging platform targeted to organizing communities. It has been used by a wide range of groups, from teachers managing their classes, to volunteer search-and-rescue teams coordinating their emergency responses, to activists organizing large-scale demonstrations.

I was brought onto the development team for the Celly iOS app in Spring 2013. After joining the team, I performed an app-wide redesign for the transition to iOS 7-style UI, improved the overall stability of the app, and introduced various new features. In addition to programming the app, I also took on more design-related responsibilities such as creating interface mockups and custom icons.

In addition to the basic messaging features of the Celly platform, the Celly iOS app is capable of several advanced features. Users can broadcast and detect cells (conversation groups) through BLE, allowing for super quick and easy hyper-local group creation. Users can also donate to fundraisers hosted on the Celly platform using their device.
